John M Harrison’s Nova Swing, a sequel to his extraordinary novel Light, has won this year’s prestigious Arthur C Clarke award for Science Fiction writing.
Eisner Awards shortlist
The shortlist for this year’s Eisner Awards, one of the major (mostly US) comics awards, went up in the last few days – I posted the full list and press release over on the Forbidden Planet International blog and was pleased to see several of the works we’ve recommended over the last few months featured on the shortlist. If you are looking for some good graphic novel reading it is well worth a look at the shortlist.
